Dr Yao received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota, United States. Subsequently, she completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program with the New York University Langone Hospitals in Maui, Hawaii, during which she was awarded the Horace Wells Award by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology for her distinguished accomplishment in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After spending eleven years abroad, she returned to Singapore, her beloved hometown.
Dr Yao’s core beliefs are closely aligned with DP Dental’s philosophy of building personal relationships with patients and staff in a people-centred environment. By educating patients about their oral conditions, she aspires to help them achieve a lifetime of good oral health. Her dedication to understanding her patient’s needs and expectations enables her to make the most suitable treatment recommendations. Her gentle approach can ease even the most anxious of patients.
Dr Yao has an extensive interest in all aspects of dentistry, but she is particularly passionate about preventative dentistry, Invisalign, and prosthodontics. She is deeply committed to providing high-quality care for her patients through continued professional development.
Dr Yao is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and enjoys a range of interests outside of her practice, such as gym sessions, rock climbing, badminton, cooking, and spending time with her loved ones.
Dr Yao’s impressive achievements include being a Certified Invisalign Provider, Executive Council Member of the College of General Dental Practitioners (Singapore), Committee member of the Singapore Dental Association Continuing Dental Education Committee, and Ordinary member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry (U.S.).
